The Office of Curriculum Instruction and Assessment's scope of primary responsibilities include:
- The ongoing development, monitoring, and evaluation of all curriculum from pre-kindergarten through graduation.
- The ongoing development, monitoring, and evaluation of all curriculum based assessments that support our ability to monitor student performance relative to established performance standards.
- The ongoing development of comprehensive professional learning opportunities for all faculty and staff in the Dedham Public Schools.
- The ongoing development, monitoring and evaluation of the district's program for English Language Learners (ELL).
- The ongoing development, monitoring, and evaluation of the district's pre-referral student support services.
- Strategic coordination with the Office of Special Education to ensure a comprehensive approach to teaching and learning that supports all learners.
- The ongoing development and annual review of the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan.
- Developing and executing a comprehensive five year plan for curriculum review.
- Coordination of educational programing for families who select to home school their children.
- Programming and support for homeless students.
- The general monitoring of existing program efficacy as well as research and development of new and innovative programs.
- The development, implementation, and monitoring of state and federal grants
- Compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations.
